Privacy and data

Privacy by design, with clear boundaries.

This policy explains how the Gig Driver Armory website and Android beta handle information.

Effective August 11, 2026 Android Beta 01.02.00 Package: com.natesgigtoolkit.app

THE SHORT VERSION

Your business records stay under your control.

Core trip, mileage, earnings, expense, receipt, vehicle, and maintenance records are stored on your device. Gig Driver Armory does not operate an app account system, cloud-sync service, advertising platform, or product-analytics service for this beta.

1. Scope and identity

This policy applies to gigdriverarmory.app, beta-access communications, and the Gig Driver Armory Android beta. During the rebrand, some beta screens or build labels may still display the former name, Nate's Gig Toolkit. The Android package remains com.natesgigtoolkit.app.

2. Website and beta applications

The website is static. It has no advertising, analytics, tracking pixels, embedded signup database, or website account system. It does not collect information through a web form.

Beta applications are handled through the official Google Group. Google processes sign-in and group-membership information under its own privacy practices. If you email the beta, support, or privacy addresses, the beta team receives your email address and whatever information you choose to include. Those messages may be retained as needed to manage the beta, respond to you, and maintain an operational record.

Cloudflare delivers and protects the website. Ordinary web requests necessarily provide Cloudflare with network and technical information such as an IP address, browser information, requested address, and security signals. Gig Driver Armory does not add its own analytics or behavioral-tracking scripts.

3. Information stored on your device

The app may store information you enter, import, scan, or generate, including:

  • Trip, mileage, time, earnings, tip, incentive, and expense records
  • Receipt and trip images selected through Android system interfaces
  • Vehicle profiles, maintenance records, reminders, and preferences
  • Optional weather snapshots associated with trips
  • A limited sanitized local crash record described below

This information is stored in the app's private storage and is not automatically uploaded to the developer.

4. Optional location and weather

If you enable GPS mileage tracking, the app uses device location while a tracked trip is active. It stores cumulative distance rather than a route history. GPS mileage is an estimate, so confirm it against your odometer or manual records. Location used for mileage tracking is processed locally and is not sent to the developer.

If you enable weather, the app sends latitude and longitude rounded to one decimal degree to Open-Meteo over HTTPS. The request includes requested weather fields and ordinary network information such as an IP address and app User-Agent. It does not include trips, routes, earnings, tips, expenses, receipts, screenshots, customer information, or device identifiers.

5. Images, OCR, and document scanning

Text recognition for selected trip and receipt images is performed on-device using bundled ML Kit text recognition. Application code does not upload receipt images, trip screenshots, or recognized text for OCR.

Android system pickers are used when you select images or documents, so the app does not request broad access to your photo library or storage. The optional document-scanning interface is provided by Google Play services, which may download required scanner modules. The app receives the scan you choose and processes it locally.

6. Permissions

Depending on the optional features you use, the app may request internet access, approximate location for weather, precise foreground location for active-trip GPS mileage, a visible foreground service, and notifications for mileage or maintenance reminders.

The beta does not request contacts, phone, SMS, microphone, advertising ID, background location, or broad photo and media permissions. The app itself does not request camera permission; the optional document scanner uses a Google Play services interface.

7. Diagnostics and optional problem reports

After a crash, the app may retain a sanitized local diagnostic record containing the build, time, exception class, thread, a short crash identifier, and app-owned stack frames. It is designed to exclude exception messages, business records, user-entered text, customer information, images, receipts, recognized text, location, and device identifiers.

No raw crash or problem report is uploaded automatically. A minimal report is sent to Sentry only after you open Report a Problem, choose a predefined category, review the privacy summary, and tap Send.

The sent report may contain the selected category, report source, app and build version, Android API level, device manufacturer and model, selected theme, and limited sanitized identifiers from the prior local crash record when available. It does not contain free-form text, trips, earnings, expenses, locations, routes, images, receipts, recognized text, customer details, notes, business records, session replay, view hierarchy, or thread traces.

Normal HTTPS metadata such as an IP address reaches Sentry in transit. The Sentry project is configured not to store source IP addresses for new events, and the submitted event supplies a fixed non-routable address instead of a tester address.

8. Exports and encrypted backups

Exports and backups are created only when you request them and are saved to a location you choose through Android. Portable backups are encrypted locally with a PIN or passphrase you select. The developer does not possess your decryption key and cannot recover a lost credential. Anyone who obtains both the encrypted backup and the correct credential may be able to decrypt it.

9. Advertising, payments, accounts, and tracking

The private beta contains no advertising SDK or live advertisements, billing, subscriptions, paywalls, app account, developer-operated cloud sync, product analytics, attribution SDK, session replay, profiling, or automatic remote crash upload.

10. Service providers

Optional or supporting services operate under their own policies:

  • Cloudflare delivers and protects the public website.
  • Zoho Mail processes messages sent to Gig Driver Armory email addresses.
  • Google provides Google Groups, Google Play, Android system services, document scanning, and ML Kit components.
  • Open-Meteo provides optional current-weather information.
  • Sentry receives only tester-confirmed sanitized problem reports.

11. Retention and deletion

App records remain on your device until you delete them, clear the app's storage, or uninstall the app. Supported individual records can be deleted inside the app. To erase all app data, use Android Settings > Apps > Gig Driver Armory or Nate's Gig Toolkit > Storage > Clear storage, or uninstall the app.

Android automatic cloud backup and device-transfer backup are disabled. Files you manually export, share, or back up remain wherever you chose to save them and must be deleted there separately.

To request deletion of beta-application or support correspondence held by the beta team, contact privacy@gigdriverarmory.app. Requests involving Google, Cloudflare, Zoho, Open-Meteo, or Sentry may also be subject to those providers' policies and controls.

12. Security and responsible use

The app uses Android private storage and local encryption for portable backups, but no system can guarantee absolute security. Protect your device, retain original business records while testing, review OCR results before saving, and store exported files and backup credentials securely. Only interact with the app while safely parked.

13. Adults and independent status

Gig Driver Armory is intended for adults age 18 and older and is not directed to children. It is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any gig-work platform.

14. Changes and contact

This policy may be updated as the website or app changes. The effective date identifies the current version, and material changes will be reflected in an updated policy made available with the applicable release.

Privacy questions and requests can be sent to privacy@gigdriverarmory.app. General support is available at support@gigdriverarmory.app.
